Project update - Mrs. Moen ugly fabric challenge #2

Just a reminder of the fabric I was sent. I'm still working on ugly fabric #1 but need to get a couple pieces of fabric to finish it up.
I started on ugly fabric #2 .... the cats .... which I happened to like as is but decided to do something with.

So I cut everything apart then sewed some of the triangles back together again in a different configuration. The cats are currently fused to their background fabric (from my collection) and awaiting some embroidery. The starry fabric will be the border and the whimsical sewing cats fabric is for the back.

A number of us were working on a secret memory quilt project for a friend that was dying. It was delivered on Monday evening. She died on Tuesday morning. The quilt was displayed at her viewing yesterday. The funeral is today and hopefully at some point over the next few days I'll be able to get a good photograph of it.

Project update - eyesore fabric #1

I'm currently playing with circles on squares. I have a thumbnail drawing of the whole project done and was somewhat surprised that this part of it used exactly two repeats of the circles. Doesn't look like much at the moment but in a few weeks it should be ready for proper viewing.
My ALQS4 quilt has arrived safely in ......... Singapore :) You have to head on over to Vreni's blog http://oops-lah.blogspot.com and see the view from Singapore's newest hotel. Very interesting looking structure in it's own right.
I've been having a lot of bad headaches over the past few months. New "office" glasses for middle to short distance should fix that and help me see to sew better :)
So family vacation time is coming up and start of school for the kidlets. Our oldest girls are coming into town on Saturday which means my sewing room will be reverting to guest bedroom. We are hoping that the heat and humidity will decrease somewhat so that we can get in some decent "happy family" sightseeing.

ALQS4 and Mrs. Moen "eyesore" fabric

We have received our swap recipients. My quilt has a looooong journey ahead of it and the recipient has a beautiful blog. That's all I'm saying for the moment :)

Nina Lise aka - Mrs. Moen http://mrsmoen.blogspot.com/ sent me a package. It's "eyesore" fabric from the 80's that she was unsure what to do with. I loooove the cat fabric. The challenge is to see what we can both come up with. I drew up some designs last week while I was in Ohio. We shall see if any of the fabric "fits" the layouts. Stay tuned.
Oh and Nina thanks for the chocolate. It's currently setting up in my fridge. The heat turned it to liquid :)
