Project update - LofS signature quilt

With the exception of my "mystery"block, needed to fill the gap, all the inner sashing is done. I have a few ideas bouncing around in my brain for the extra block. Just need to put them down on paper to see which one will work out best.
I have all the squares cut out for the BofM project some of us from the LofS group are participating in. I'm behind on that because I needed to get fabric.
The PIF gifts are almost complete but photos for that will have to wait :)

Hope you all have a joyful Easter week-end. We have our world wide church conference all week-end which is always wonderful. It also airs on the internet and T.V. which is very convenient :)

Siggie block update

I'm in the process of putting the first border round the blocks. Some are complete, some are half way done. I need to cut some more strips. I'm using a mottled burgundy that is a lot redder than the picture shows.

Play time

I got a package in the mail last night. The signature blocks from The Lady of Steeles Hand Embroidery group swap :) We originally started out with about 26 of us but the numbers eventually decreased to 19. Now I just have to decide what kind of quilt I want to make my blocks into. The photo shows the blocks laid out as they came out the package. Now I get to "play"with the arrangement for a while.
This block belongs to Barbara our "long suffering" swap hostess. She dedicated almost 8 months to keeping us on track, moving along and on occasion getting very strict in her own special way :)
To everyone that participated, Barbara, Deb, Cat, Marion, Donna, Wanda, Gloria, Arlene, Alva, Dixie, Denise, Latha, Shasta, Patti, Janice, Candji, Linda and Kathryn  a big THANK YOU. I love the blocks and am looking forward to seeing all the finished results.

We are back :)

We got back Monday night from our vacation to Britain. We had a great time and worked out we covered close to 3,000 miles during the 3 weeks we were there. Visited lots of historical places and a few beaches. Drove through, and stopped off at, some fabulous scenery. Enjoyed time with family and visited some old friends.

Now we just have to get past the jet lag, it's 4.00 a.m. here 10 a.m. there, and Nik and I are wide awake and eating cereal. We also have to readjust to the heat and humidity.

I've been blogging about our vacation at our family site http://jocarhansenfamily.blogspot.com/ and will put up our week 3 overview some time today or tomorrow.

Quilting news. I'm participating in a signature block exchange with the Lady of Steeles Hand Embroidery group. There are 26 participants. I took my drawn up blocks with me on vacation and finished the design element on about 12 of them. I would have gotten more done but for some reason I kept getting distracted by beautiful scenery :)

It appears that I am participating in "I Am A Stitchers Angel 2009". Before going on vacation I tried sending an e-mail to sign up but was having internet issues so never knew if it got there or not. So I read my e-mail today and I have been assigned a secret partner. Wouldn't you know it she lives not too far from one of the places we visited on our vacation !!!!!!! The theme is "Roses" and we have to send at least 3 hand made items over a period of 7 weeks. Fun. Fun. Fun.

While I was gone on vacation I got a nice surprise from Micki at Irish Muses. I'll do a separate posting about that once I have my "pass the award along" list put together :)

Kris and Nik start back at school on Friday so we have a short period of time to get everything together for them. Juliet and Elisabeth have one more week with us before heading back to university. After that I will be hustling to get some of my swaps finished and Christmas gifts put together.
