It's not the quilt I was planning on sharing today but my other one is not finished yet and won't be for a while. I'm embroidering some blocks.
This is one of the few quilts that I have finished this year and it is for The Gracie Jane Project (button in sidebar). Ironically I found out about this new project last year while reading one of the Blogger Quilt Festival entries.
There's already a whooooole lot of people participating in the festival and as usual I plan on visiting everyone over the next few days (better make that weeks since there are so many entries.) Thanks to Amy http://amyscreativeside.com/ for giving us this fun opportunity to interact with each other. Love the mini photos for the entries :)

I'm loving quilt with lots of white in them, this one no exception, and it is not even needing the border that you missed. Great story too!

Love the simple colours together..its just beautiful...and yes i know what you mean about the hubby laughing... we try all wierd poses for quilts etc... i just bought a new camera to take better pics of my quilts... bit sad really when my other camera was fine for taking pictures of kids....Priorities??!! xx

What a surprisingly simple design for such a complex looking surface. Your choice of colours and fabrics really made this quilt, - I especially liked the effect of the stripey fabric. Love the sea greens :-)

We could be long lost sisters. I have an unphotogenic house and wander around for photo shoots with the subject at hand looking for a clean, well lit spot. Very hard to find both at the same place!

Love the color scheme. Also the way the simple quilting runs perpendicular to the pattern of the quilt. Very effective.

Thanks for posting the final picture too as I can really see how the blocks go together and think I might be able to try that at some point. I'll be bookmarking you! So far I haven't come across a quilt that was made to keep - they have all been for special times - birthdays, babies, weddings and charities. That says so much about quilters don't you think? Must stop by your other blogs - I'm very interseted in my family history too and have got back to around 1790.

Adorable photos with the baby dolls who I imagine are a similar size to the premmie. A lovely cause to make a quilt for and this is nice simple design but very effective.
